How the heck a run score on a pop up to 2nd? Hell, my son threw a kid out Wednesday on what was a supposed to be a SF to LF and he gunned him down with 2 steps to spare? So, how does this guy not get gunned down with a throw from the 2B area to home?

OK. We are batting. Get a runner on and let's start moving him around, by any means necessary (walks, bunts, gap hits, whatever....) patient aggressiveness with results.
 
It want a routine pop up, it was fading into the out field and he misjudge it. Rule a hit.

Aaahhh.. I read it like he caught it meaning the runner wouldn't have started until after the catch. Dropped fading into outfield catch makes sense, since he is moving in the opposite direction of the needed throw.

OK. Good situation... Be real good to have hit in the gap, so at least 2 can score. As I tell my son, only swing at the pitchers mistakes ("Make'em pay for his mistakes!").
