They Flyers have a brother on the team - Wayne Simmonds

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Fists were flying faster than shots on goal. Sidney Crosby and Claude Giroux even became knotted in the pushing, pulling and shoving, a pair of superstars willing to mix it up to prove which team was the baddest on the ice and the scoreboard.

The Penguins and Flyers talked trash, laid the smack down, and played one wildly entertaining game. The result was still the same. The Flyers rallied from another early deficit for a decisive Game 3 victory that placed them on the brink of an improbable sweep.

Danny Briere, Matt Read and Max Talbot each scored two goals to lead Philadelphia to an 8-4 victory over Pittsburgh on Sunday in a fight-filled game in the Eastern Conference quarterfinal.

Giroux and Wayne Simmonds also scored to help the Flyers take a 3-0 lead in the combustible best-of-seven series. Game 4 is Wednesday night in Philadelphia. The Flyers scored 20 goals in the first three games.

''Our goal is to finish it right away,'' Briere said.

The goals might be hard to find on a highlight reel. This one was all about the brawls more suitable for a UFC card. Three players were tossed in the first period. There was a rare fight between superstars when Crosby squared off against Giroux.

As a Penguins fan, I'm not enjoying this. The Pens are letting Philadelphia get their antics in and they are not concentrating on defense. I enjoy Simmonds' game, but the rest of that team can kiss my ass.

Pittsburgh out there acting like a bunch of wusses, man. They're fighting because they can't play any defense in their own end.

Blackhawks’ Marian Hossa leaves game on stretcher after Raffi Torres hit (VIDEO)

Very scary moment in the first period during Tuesday's Game 3 between the Chicago Blackhawks and Phoenix Coyotes.

Marian Hossa was cutting toward center ice after getting the puck knocked away from him when he was met by Raffi Torres who laid a shoulder to the Blackhawks forward's chin. On replay, it was clear Torres launched himself into Hossa.

Hossa was knocked unconscious and had to be taken from the ice on a stretcher:

Referees are letting more stuff go so the anger is building up into crap like this hit and the Pens-Flyers game 3.

What started all this was Shea Weber not getting suspended for slamming Hendrik Zetterberg's head (turnbuckle style) into the boards last week. So the players around the league felt like everyone was free game after that.

However, this Torres cat is notorious for head hunting. He did the same thing to Brent Seabrook in the playoffs last year when he played for the Canucks.
