:snicker:They will be another Ole Miss in the conference.
For baseball I said they'd be top 5. You can't tell me that isn't reasonable. SC, UF, Vandy, who else?If advancing to the national championship the year after losing 4 players early to the NBA is choking, then what do you call tamu? What has their bball done that makes you think its at that level? An SEC team has won the last 5 national titles in football, what has tamu done that makes you think its at that level? An SEC team has won the last 3 college world series, the last one with 2 SEC teams playing each other for the title. What has tamu done that makes you think it comes in dominating there?
Heard about that this morning. At first I was thinking that TAMU was just making noise. But now I think they WILL do this simply to get out of the shadow of U. Texas. I think Texas getting that Longhorn Network was the last straw for some die-hard TAMU folks.
In basketball, the Big 12 from top to bottom is much better than the SEC. Kansas, Texas, K-State, Baylor, A&M, OK-State are all better than the rest of the SEC outside of UF and UK.
This discussion is pointless lol. TAMU would be average in the SEC just like they are in the Big 12. That's pretty much that. Texas will still get all of the good recruits and I wouldnt be surprised if TCU even out recruits them. None of that will change just because they join the SEC. They will be another Ole Miss in the conference.
combined with their last big 12 football championship in 1998 and that looks like some dominant stuff to me!. :scared::scared:Texas A@m has never been to the Big 12 finals in basketball.
ummm JR,Just like half of the SEC teams are overall athletically. Outside of Football. What does Alabama do?
ummm JR,
Yall were the ones who said tamu would come in and do so much in all sports. So, while an SEC team may suck in one sport, there is another SEC team competing at the top level nationally in that same sport.
Tamu didn't strike fear in the big 12 and they wouldn't in the SEC either.
This was basically my point lol. Dude just likes to argue against the SEC.
First off its about money.... The Big 12 revenue split is laughable... A&M and oklahoma are just going along till a better chance jumps up.. That chance is the SEC.... The SEC Television revenue split is $23 Million plus per team... It aint an AD or school president that wouldn't love to start the year with $25 - $30 Million in the back pocket....
As far as competing.. Someone said it before, its all in the hire... Franchione was a horrible hire from day one.. He tried to operate at A&M like he was at New Mexico or TCU.. The Right coach and Aggie Football can be in the Top 5 in the SEC.... The mens basketball program would be in the Top 5 in the SEC... Womens basketball would be neck and neck with Tennessee...
Track and Field... Nuff said... Baseball is top of the line.... Soccer is Top 15... Facilities and fan base match anything in the SEC....
And you guys like to think the SEC has no weak teams in every sport.

They announced on ESPN that Texas A&M is going to the SEC; Clemson, Missouri and Florida State are possible additions as well...
I see the SEC was thinking the same teams I posted earlier. Clemson is a good fit and Missouri is close to Arkansas and a state over from TN and Kentucky isn't far either. Good academic fit. Getting Florida State will intensify their rivarly with Florida.
Good academic fit.
