I think I will go to the 1st 2 days of the tourney....We probably be thru by then...

LMAO You got that right. This play is pathetic. I know folks don't want to admit it but this team is not that good. I don't know if they are laying down or just flat out being lazy but I know one thing for sure is that other teams are not caring what their problem is.

Today was Senior Day and we have 1 senior. We have some horses coming in too. I like where we are at.

:upset:, SU you broke his finger got damn it, but be damn if we don't have a replacement! See your arse back at the ball park later, and if I were you all, I would walk around with my hands in my pockets!

Congrats to Texas Southern on their sweep of Southern!

When is the SWAC baseball tournament? Isn't it later this year? Either way, hope you guys continue to play some solid baseball over the next few weeks.

FYI - with Rice on the 'bubble' as far as hosting and LSU slipping away as a host possibility as of late, the SWAC winner could be looking at a few days in Austin (Texas), Fort Worth (TCU) are being shipped out of the area. A change of pace...

SWAC Tourney is the last week in May....leading up to Memorial Day.

It would be good for the SWAC to play somewhere else besides LSU and Rice.

Arkansas, Texas, Ole Miss may be options.....depending on who wins the Tourney.

HOUSTON – Texas Southern proved it could overcome a five-run, late-game deficit. Southern could not do the same down five runs four hours later.

The difference? Southern’s half-game lead in the Southwestern Athletic Conference West is now a game and a half hole.

TSU swept the Jaguars 10-9 (10 innings) and 10-5 in front of about 250 fans at MacGregor Park on Saturday afternoon, giving the Tigers their highest win total in school history.

The Jaguars (18-19, 13-6) will try to rebound and get back within a half game of TSU (25-22, 15-5) as the two teams meet again at 1 p.m. today.

Southern grabbed the momentum after scoring eight runs and taking a five-run lead in the eighth inning of the first game, but then the Jaguars pitching and defense fell apart.

SU committed three errors and issued ten walks, several of which led to the Tigers scoring five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to tie the game, and eventually winning it in the 10th.

“We just couldn’t put them away,†Southern coach Roger Cador said. “We just made too many mental mistakes. We’ve just got to get better pitching and defense.â€

Texas Southern coach Michael Robertson was glad his team took advantage.

“Our kids have done such a good job of being resilient and showing mental toughness,†Robertson said. “Today was another good example.â€

There are a lot of teams that are very young this year just about everyone had a huge turnover. I think Alcorn, SU and Grambling will have huge turnovers this year. We dont have a single player playing in the same position from last year and only two that had much playing time (Solis and Cole). Great thing we dont lose a single arm off the staff and we have a couple of guys on campus already and already signed some good players to come in for 2011
