For those interested, the Pine Bluff Commercial has recently unveiled a new Web site that will include more frequent online updates and blogging about anything and everything UAPB and SWAC related.

Winthrop - I watched their championship game and they SHUT DOWN the top-seeded Coastal Carolina team... they had 1-2 players that did OK but you have to worry about their physical play and defense more than their offense...


This is a GOOD chance for UAPB to pull this out for the SWAC (even if yall beat us Grrrrr.... lol)

This maybe a more evenly matched game for us since we also focus more on defense.

We have a good chance of beating Winthrop! The guards in the SWAC are very under rated. I know those guards at Winthrop are not as good as the top guards in the SWAC ie TSU's Treasure and Jones, MVSU-Julius Cheeks, the JSU guard tandem. Anyway this is where our out of conference schedule will come into play. UAPB lost to Georgia Tech by 12. The players now believe in themselves and they believe in Coach Ivory now more so than what they probably did at the beginning of the season. They know they can play with anybody...especially on a neutral court. UAPB's defense is the greatest asset.

Congrats to PB and their coach George Ivory. I will be pulling for your guys. George is going to keep building this program up. This will not be a fluke year and I think PB will be competitive for a long time.

We established a pattern a few years ago...Dare win at UAPB and you get fired.

0-11 is a good thing because that means that they will think that UAPB can't compete with them. If UAPB can get this win, play respectable against DUKE, then it a good recruiting tool for the entire SWAC.
