It is all just speculation. No one knows but Tony Clayton. It will all come out in due time on who will be the next coach. I am sure multiple people have been contacted or at least inquired about the opening now. I mean it has only been less than 24 hours since Pete got the news.

Ya'll seem to be worried or not sure since nobody want to put it out there about who's the frontrunner for the job.

Ya'll opened the door for PETE to leave and when he didn't, ya'll put a foot in his back and shoved him out to the curb.:lol:
We just waiting to see all this "PULL" the SU job has that ya'll been screaming about for years.
It will show in who you hire or who you can PULL away from another University.:tup:

Cause the last time we changed coaches, we ran through the SWAC and didnt flinch. :lol:

They thought we were in rebuild mode, but we went straight to Championship mode. I think that still bothers some folks....:lol:

They been talking a big time game for years about the juice they have at SU and now it's "Put up or SHUT UP" time.
Anything less than a truely "shocking.......How they get him" hire will be a let down.

Uh Frat, Shelmon is from N. La. He probably has more Grambling ties than SU ties.

I don't even know if he would be on the radar screen even if he was at a college.


Don't be shocked about what cash may be in the mix. Yall do realize Aeneas Williams brother is on our board. Tony Clayton aint a broke mofo either. Maybe for a change these cats have reached out to the rich alums. I aint putting nothing past TC. We shall see.

In my opinion you don't have to make a big money splash to get a good coach. We HBCUs are overpaying in my opinion anyway. But hey that is just me.

I'm into who JSU is going to get as an OC and Director of Football Operations.
Those decisions are comming within the next 3 weeks.:tup:

Well I don't think SU folks are thinking retread either. Doug is probably the only name that SU folks would consider that is a so called retread SWAC coach. Because when he left Gram, he had just been interviewed by Kentucky. So he wasn't on the decline when he left. So really he aint a re-tread that had no clue. Had he stayed at Gram, I doubt he would have allowed Gram to lose to PV or to JSU in 07. His teams were pretty solid. Outside of him not being able to beat Pete. Not that I advocate hiring him.

I think the only other SWAC guy you will see on the list will be Heish Northern. He wouldn't be a retread because he never has had a chance to be a head coach yet. So no one knows if he can do the job. Not that I advocate hiring him either. Just throwing it out there that these are probably the only 2 SWAC guys that will even get their name mentioned for the job in my opinion. I think all the other candidates will surface from other HBCUs or FCS schools. Just got to take a wait and see approach.



As for ole Comegy and a new OC. It should interesting to see what type of offense is he wanting to run which will dictate who he wants to hire. I assume Braddy is going to be sitting in with Comegy to help him make this decision? Or is this just a Comegy decision to make on his on?
 
How about ain't nobody worried about Southern. SUs football legacy rivals that of Alcorn. No matter who you get, you (like Alcorn) have to go thru JSU and Grambling. :lecture:

Both.
Comegy's guy but Braddy has stated in the C/L that he wanted to open all options so he will be in the mix with him.
Ties to Mississippi, JSU, or the SWAC are not on the demand list this time.
Braddy stated that he want the best guy PERIOD and it don't matter who he is or where he come from. :tup:

We don't need a big name. We have everything in place except for a young talented coach.
