S.U./JSU game site????

Right and on top of that, we are not used to reserved seats either...lol Reserved seats serve little purpose in Memorial. On top of that, unless someone organizes it, friends are not guaranteed to sit together in Mumford. You all can bring 20 people to Memorial and ALL sit together. Heck, I recall my first trip to Mudford, about 4 in my party were in the endzone, two were over by SU's band and 2 more were on the opposite side.

We can go to Alcorn's visitor side, AAMU or Grambling and sit where the hell we want.

Dude I was so mad the first time I went to Baton Rouge I couldn't think straight. I purchased my ticket on campus got to the game early with my girl. And we sitting on aluminum bleachers in the endzone. A concession stand was right behind it and it stunk. The band performed and came back to no seats. I will never forget it. I had to park a long way and walk. That kinds of experience is hard to forget.

If you guys could only see how pink toes complain about crappy service in certain venues and vow to never come back. Folks feel that way about Mumford.

shaggy,
here's a way....
If you don't want to pay ticketmaster fees and Jsu has sold out of its allotment, why don't yall just buy 'em directly from SU? (I'm assuming they do offer telephone sales)
That's what I did last year when we played at FAMU. I had to keep waiting around to see who all was going and by the time I had a firm number, ASU had sold out of its allotment. I ended up calling FAMU's ticket office and got 8 tickets through them. Picked 'em up at will call on gameday. Didn't have to pay ticketmaster fees.

..then I am sure you know that trying to organize that schitt takes the fun out of it... lol Also, you may not be able to compare SU-JSU to AlaState-FUBU. I don't ever recall having a hard time getting into FAMU's stadium so we just buy ours on game day. SU has typically been a different beast and for the JSU game, they probably would not have had 8 tickets for me after the JSU allotment was gone. Even though FAMU's set up is much like SU's they still have more of a "visitor's" side than SU does. Heck, did FAMU even had assigned seats for general admit tickets?

But on another note, JSU fans helped to pack in 33K in Mumford in 1998. That is about 8K over capacity so I guess if JSU fans wanted to come down and take a chance on standing, they could.

The most frustrating thing to me about the SCG is trying to get tickets. JSU does not have any. Legion field does not have any...so you have to go to ticketmaster or order from the alumni associations to get crappy seats.
They must had sold out, cause I refuse to believe that the school wouldn't have tickets for the game.
If they had sold out, then just blame yourself for dragging your feet to get 'em. Thats why you would have to go through ticketmaster.

Shaw. It has gotten that bad at Memorial now. We have to park all the way over at Murrah unless you get their at noon. LOL. Not enough concession stands open to handle the crowd. Then they run out of stuff not anticipating that the SU and JSU game gone have a ton of folks. Still takes too long to get into the stadium..etc.... so we(black folks) don't handle large crowds well anyway. We get irritable about that kind of stuff. It aint a SU thing.

For the life of my I don't understand why people even spend money at the cocession stands at games. Especially if you are tailgating. Now as far as the distance and walking tail gaiting during the SU/JSU game is the best none classic period. So people take up extra parking places and tailgate most of the actual parking lot. That only leaves those long walks. But JR at least you get a seat and can sit with your peeps and enjoy the bands together.

Mumford is only fun for SU folks. Jackson is fun for all. and the crowded gate situation is due to too many folks trying to get into the game first. I mean I was just sitting their last year eating watching all those folks stand in line for the game. They opened the gates and we politely positioned our stash and walked right up to the gate and were in our seat in less than 5 minutes.

If I can walk up to a counter and purchase my ticket...why would I pay extra money to get the same ticket online?

:retard:

Dumb dude I been using ticket masters since 98 and I know black people will not use ticketmasters when they see the fees. Pink toes follow their team at whatever cost. Black people don't. Some of us are diehard most aren't.

I purchased my ticket for the Jackson /SU game via Ticket masters and printed it out. Why because I didn't want to stand in the lines on campus or at the gate.

My point is you comparing apples to star fruit. Alabama, michigan, Tenn have packed stadiums for their spring games. We charge 5 dollars and get 1500. Different breed of fans. Dummy

Exactly my point.. NEGGA MENTALITY!!

SS, You don't even live in Jackson no more... UNless you are always able to get someone in the Jackson area to get you a ticket, you won't understand.

And even if you live in Jackson.. If the campus runs out of ticket, what's wrong with getting your ticket from ticket master?

This ain't even smack.. It's crazy some of you college grads think with this "hood" mentality

TP,
I wasnt comparing the ASU/FAMU game to yours against SU. Just making the point that you can get your tickets through their ticket office. I don't play that general admission stuff (cause I'm old and I need a good seat so I can see ) I need reserved seating. And just like you said, if you're travelling with a big group, reserved seating is a MUST. Cause it's NO way I'm going to a game and finding out its sold out after I get there. :smh:

btw, you're right bout organizing game day. It can be work. But it always end up as a great time, win or lose.

I was just going to ask.. Am I the only that have to walk dayum near a mile an a half to Memorial? :retard:

Uhhh.......band dude. It has nothing to do with being country. If I can purchase my ticket on game day (which alot of people already stated), then the hassle of going through ticketmaster paying fees and such will turn me off. Diehard or not, I'm going to make the game if my time (schedule) & money allow me, but I'm not trying to go through any hassle or pay more than what I can afford, cause I STILL have to live after the game.

I sitting here reading all this clownish shat from people not from JSU talking about how we buy ticket's for OUR home games.
WE NOT THE ONE'S BEGGING SOMEONE ELSE FOR STADIUM USE.
Our schedule is set and just like we have done for the last 40 years, we will walk up and buy on Friday and Saturday.
Why should we care how SUck's sell theirs.
Ticketmaster work's for you then good.

And since we on ticketmaster.

Since SU poster's are on here crowing about ticketmaster, why in hell do the line at Memorial's ticket Offices be jammed packed with SU fans, buying ticket's on SATURDAY when the game is played in Jackson.:noidea:
I know damm well Memorial don't have a Ticketmaster on the property.
YA'LL DON'T EVEN USE TICKETMASTER yet you on here running your mouth's about someone else using it.
The damm line be down the stair's and onto Stadium drive it be so many SU fan's without tickets at Memorial.
I have not ever bought a JSU or SWAC ticket off ticketmaster.
EVER!!

WTH?!?!

Dude, it is WAAY more hassle trying to get a ticket on game DAY.. Chances are you won't get the SEATS you are looking for and you may not end up on the side you want to be on..

Matter of fact there is NO Hassle at all getting your tickets through Ticketmaster.. You can do it online are go to a ticketmaster location that usually have no LINE where you can walk up ask them to pull up the available seats and pick your seats..... I know Mississippi is way more technical than some of you on here trying to portray...smh

And them dayum fees ain't that much...How in the hell you expect TM to stay in business with out fees? I can't beleive this has to even be explained...

uuum TP does not wait til the last minute.

Nope, SERIOUSLY... i tried to get tickets to the game and JSU nor Legion Field HAD ANY! This was nowhere close to last minute. I called JSU the week of the Alcorn game and they said they had not received any. I called Thanksgiving week and the week after...no tickets. Then I called Legion field and they HAD none. I STILL don't understand that one. SERIOUSLY. I don't know who to blame for that one but tickets for last year's game were hard to come by unless you got them from alumni associations and even they were just taking orders. They did not physically have any tickets until about a week or so before the game. The last time I called JSU, the lady told me to go to Ticketmaster .... :lmao: Also, on ticketmaster, you could not get good seats...someone had them blocked but on gameday, people were getting 50 yard line seats. I was pissed!

Getting tickets other than by ticketmaster in advance is sometimes impossible for JSU fans. Even for the Hampton game, I had to call Ticketmaster because JSU had no tickets. They were selling SHC tickets but had NO Orlando tickets. So I had to bite the bullet and pay the ticketmaster fees. Most people I know got their tickets from the Orlando chapter. I got my SCG tickets from the Atlanta chapter.

beans,
There is no surcharge on the tickets when you buy 'em through the school. At least, it's not at ASU. or FAMU.
So for games that you might not can get walk up tickets (like yall say for your game in BR), then a couple of weeks before, or maybe even the week of the game, you should be able to get 'em through SU's ticket office. Provided you want to go.

carry on...

Ticketmaster work's for you then good.
I have not ever bought a JSU or SWAC ticket off ticketmaster.
EVER!!

Which means one or 2 things:

~ You usually get to JSU fast enough or have good connects on tickets at JSU and all other SWAC schools and you are country

or

~ You refuse to support your school because of a dayum Ticketmaster fee and you are country.

It's one or both of the 2...

Speaking for her..I think she buys season tickets...lol However, even if she didn't, there is NO NEED to have anyone get u a ticket if you don't live in Jackson. Ticket prices don't go up until Saturday so when I land, I go right to campus and get ALL THE TICKETS I WANT. The ONLY problem with that is that for instance, if the SU-JSU or JSU-ALcorn game is gonna sell 55K-60K tickets, they will close the ticket office on noon on Friday once they reach about 45K tickets sold so that they can get the extra loot the next day from the last minute folks. That has not happened to me in a minute so I don't sweat that anymore.

You just dumb.
Don't know shat so you just post so-called insult's.
But I will try again to get this question up there answered.
I know you won't cause it will knock all your ticket master bullshat out the park.
If not, post to me when your brain cell's kick in.:smh:

Idiot cut out the entire question to post the last 2 lines.
Go ahead STRP96.
Make a hypocrit out of yourself.

who knows, maybe the SWAC dropped the ball on that one.

btw, one thing I've found about ticketmaster (I use them when there is no other way), NEVER, EVER accept the "best available" seats it'll show on their website. Actually, it's MUCH better to call and talk to them. When you call, it'll start out taking you through the automated system which will give you the exact same seats as "best available". The catch is that when the system prompts you to tell it what event you're looking for, you got to say some gibberish that it can't understand. L, sometimes I'll fake a sneeze.
It'll ask you again and you do the same thing, then it'll take you to an operator. I make that operator search section by section (I already have a seating chart and I know the sections I want) And it has never failed that the live operator didnt "find" better seats than the "best available"

Not in Jackson or most of the on-campus stadiums we visit. The only negative to buying a ticket game-day is that the game-day price is sometimes higher. I think the JSU tickets on game day are $30 for general admission. You can save $5 if you buy them in advance. For people who are traveling with a family, those small amounts add up. I don't want to give Ticketmaster all that extra money. I typically buy 10-15 tickets at a time. ....'cause I aint lettin no one else handle the tickets. lol

I have a question....b/c I'm a little confused...

Is JSU asking SU to move the game to Jackson or is SU asking to move the game to Jackson?
one of our board members wants us to move the game to memorial.

It's SU's home game right? Sooooooooooo if Mumford is so great...why is there any discussion about moving the game to Jackson?
Yep its our home game, the discussion is still what a single board member is pushing for. the jag nation not having it though!
Through all the smack in this thread...I don't understand why the discussion of moving it is taking place?
again we have a crazed board chairman who wants to move the game. Why well, b/c its has a bigger capacity,is what i gather..which means more revenue.. *shrugs*
Just asking...

:lecture:
welp, i gave the answers.

now..whats the name of the organization thats over the memorial stadium again? also players can you put the link up for the portion of the contract that talks about rental fee's for the stadium for none jsu events. I want to check something out. thanks guy!

That is what I do, I never buy on-line.

Frat, SU fans use ticketmaster when it is appropriate. In a 63,000 seat stadium........they feel it aint needed. But again when we have to play FAMU in Tally Ho.......the fans with good sense know you better get your tickets somehow before rolling down or else you will be like some I saw one year down there. Out of Luck.

I use the same stategy for concerts. I know EWF can't sell out the Target Center like the old days so I can wait and buy my ticket from the arena. Now when Prince is performing up here.........I bite the bullet and buy online from ticketmaster.

However, the Visitors gate the last few years have not opened up until 45mins-1hour after the home gate has been open. Last year we had to walk around to the homeside.... That is ridiculous:shame:
