Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) commissioner Charles McClelland is a special guest on the HBCU Sports Podcast with Kenn Rashad.


McClelland talks about Saturday’s SWAC Championship Football Game featuring Alcorn State and Southern and the logistical planning that was necessary to minimize potential problems.

He also discusses the conference’s plan to play an 8-game conference schedule beginning next season with the intent to boost the conference’s image as it relates to being competitive among other FCS conferences.

Other subjects discussed include future locations of the championship game, the Celebration Bowl and the need for MEAC and SWAC representation on the NCAA’s FCS selection committee.
