Brian Jenkins is no longer on the North Carolina Central football staff, according to multiple reports.

Jenkins was arrested Sunday in Port Orange, Florida, following an altercation with his ex-girlfriend. He was arrested on charges of witness tampering, battery, and criminal mischief.

Hired in January as NCCU’s running backs coach and special teams coordinator, Jenkins worked in the same positions at Alabama A&M last season. In 2010, Jenkins was named the head coach at Bethune-Cookman where he served for five seasons before becoming head coach at Alabama State, where he coached for three seasons.

So far, no official comment or statement has been released by NCCU. However, Jenkins’s profile has been removed from the coaching roster on the school’s athletic website.
