BOXTOROW released its annual rankings of the top 10 HBCU FCS recruiting classes Tuesday.

Tennessee State, of the Ohio Valley Conference, received the No. 1 spot for the third time in five years.

The rest of the field included Prairie View A&M at No. 2, followed by Norfolk State, South Carolina State, and Bethune-Cookman to round off the top five.

Florida A&M was ranked at the No. 6 spot; with Alabama State and Grambling both tied at No. 7. Southern and Hampton were ranked No. 8 and No. 9 respectively.

Jackson State and North Carolina A&T completed the rankings tied at the No. 10 spot.

The rankings, according to the BOXTOROW, were determined based on information obtained from school releases, local newspaper articles and recruiting boards.

I’m excited about the number one ranking. Although we’ve seen it twice before, I’m hoping it all comes together so we can push for an OVC title, and more importantly, a national title!
