The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its women’s basketball players of the week recognizing Chloe Roberts (Lane) and Shaniece Brown (Claflin).

Roberts was named player of the week with Brown earning the newcomer weekly award.

G • 5-9 • Fr. • Scotts Hill, Tenn.
Roberts scored 62 points on the week averaging 20.6 points per game
during the three game span. She notched 23 points against Philander
Smith before tacking on a 21-point effort against Division I opponent
Arkansas-Pine Bluff. She also added 21 rebounds, four assists, and three
steals during her performance for the week.

Newcomer of the Week
Shaniece Brown
Claflin
G • 5-4 • Jr. • Rochester, N.Y.
Brown scored a team 13 points in Claflin’s 53-47 win over Winston Salem
State. For the game she shot 4-of-9 knocking down both three=point
attempts. She also posted two assists in her 22 minutes on the floor in
a reserve roll.
