The SWAC announced the trio of volleyball players to earn weekly honors. Robyn Shannon of Texas Southern claimed Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Shanice Faison of Prairie View was named top defensive player and Kelsey Espinosa of Prairie View was picked Newcomer of the Week.

Offensive Players of the Week
Robyn Shannon, Texas Southern (5-9, Fr. Outside Hitter, Houston, Texas)
Shannon led the way with 48 kills as the Lady Tigers went 2-1 during the week. Her high for the week came in a win over Mississippi Valley State as she knocked down 21 kills.


Defensive Player of the Week
Shanice Faison, Prairie View (5-6, So., Libero, Converse, Texas)
Faison had 72 digs in 17 games, as Prairie View split four matches. She averaged 4.24 digs per game. Against New Orleans, Faison had 26 digs. She also had nine aces and 13 assists during the week. She had an impressive hitting percentage of .472.

Newcomer of the Week
Kelsey Espinosa, Prairie View (5-8, Jr., Setter, Pflugerville, Texas)
Espinosa rolled out 109 assists in 17 games, averaging 6.41 per game. She also had 37 digs and three blocks.
