Alcorn State, MS – On Saturday, the 2008 edition of Braves football got down to business in their afternoon scrimmage. Southeastern Louisiana. Offense started off at a disadvantage but soon came together to have a good scrimmage. Tony Hobson, Jr., holds an edge over Timothy Buckley as a starting quarterback. “Buckley has stepped his game up and will see playing time this seasonâ€, says Jones. Jones also states “that he is looking for more consistency from the wide receiver unit.†On the defensive end of things, Coach Jones is very pleased with their performance of “hitting hard and running fastâ€. The defensive line is seasoned and are doing a good job as freshman Brandon Morris is pushing to become a starter. Other freshmen that are attempting to make a name for themselves during practices are DB Antoine Mason and RT Nathan Fears. Fears has broken into the starting line for the 08 season
