Coach Jim Zorn was fired by the Washington Redskins early Monday, the first step in yet another team overhaul under owner Dan Snyder.

Zorn was informed of his dismissal shortly after the team returned to Redskins Park following Sunday's season-ending 23-20 loss at San Diego.

Zorn went 12-20 over two seasons, but he lost 18 of his last 24 games after a 6-2 start in 2008. The Redskins struggled early despite a weak schedule this season and finished 4-12, their worst record since 1994.

It was the second consecutive season that the Redskins finished in last place in the NFC East under Zorn.

Redskins general manage Bruce Allen said in a press conference that, "last place is not Redskin football."

Stump has np other choice now!!!

This day could be the beginning of the revitalization of both of my football teams.

About fuggin' time.

The sad part in this is they will waste time in interviewing a black guy for the job! They will hire Shanahan if he isn't already!!!

Stump has no other choice now!!!

Shanahan has had some good running backs when he was HC, and Stump has done decently with the running backs he has coached. So, there might be an outside chance that Shanahan might want to keep him. But I think your assessment is right.

Regards.
