Texas Southern to play UTEP in Football

MACHIAVELLI

Chairman/C.E.O.
The UTEP athletic department officially released the 2005 schedule Friday.

One surprise is the Nov. 12 game against Texas Southern. Originally, the Miners were expected to play Nicholls State on Sept. 16, but athletic director Bob Stull said scheduling conflicts prevented the matchup.

Price also is happy with 1-AA Texas Southern.
"It's a Texas university, and I think that's good," he said. "And when we can help a historically black institution, I think that's good.

wonder what's the payout for TSU? physically, it won't be a match-up but financially it is...

UTEP might run the table with that schedule...that looks kind of easy for them

Did you notice they are playing the three houston schools? After the Houston Bowl last year I think UTEP is trying to establish a presence in Htown much like Texas uses Rice to strengthen its Houston base every 2 years. They have done good things with that program recently.

We played UTEP in El Paso a couple of years back.

They want the attention of more Houston area high school players.
