Prairie View A&M Takes the Championship for a 2nd Time!


The 26th Annual National Championship Tournament have concluded and the Panthers of Prairie View A&M have earned their second national title! You can watch all of the final games.
Honda supports HBCUs because of the unique and critical role they play in higher education, and because they have helped literally millions of students achieve their dreams through the years.

Prairie View A&M University’s 2015 team is Joseph Dowell, Captain, a senior from Killeen, TX; Brannon Billings, a senior from Austin, TX; Eric Johnston, a sophomore from Boerne, TX; and Chayse Lavallais, a freshman. Herbert Thomas coaches the team.



Below are a few fun facts about the past PVAMU Competing Teams:

2015 is Prairie View A&M’s 26th consecutive year competing in HCASC. They have competed in every year of the competition.
2015 marks the 20th time Prairie View A&M has qualified for the National Championship Tournament (NCT).
Prairie View A&M has won a total of $136,000 in grants to date.
Prairie View A&M teams made the Final Four at the very first NCT in 1990, winning $11,000. They advanced to the Sweet Sixteen playoffs in 1993, 1999 and 2011.
Prairie View A&M won the National Championship in 2010, winning $51,000.
Malcolm Sykes and Dr. Marvin Young are members of the HCASC Alumni Hall of Fame.
