NBA Free agency rumors and trades

[...] Chicago forward Jimmy Butler hopes to take his talents elsewhere and take advantage of the new television deal after his career year coincided with Tom Thibodeau’s firing and Derrick Rose’s chemistry issues. Although Butler wants to sign a one-year deal with the Lakers, according to a league source familiar with his thinking, the Bulls are expected to match any offer for the restricted free agent.

The Bulls are gonna match the offer, though.
For one season. Then when Kobe's off the books after next season he can sign a max deal with the organization he really wants to be with. He's basically telling Chi that he's gone, if not this summer, then next.

By extending a Maximum Qualifying Offer, the Bulls can ensure that Butler, if he still chooses to sign with another team, cannot hit the unrestricted free agent market until the summer of 2018, two years after the salary cap has begun the very huge increase he wants so badly to cash in on. Butler is thinking about his next payday, despite not having received the first one yet, because of the potential rewards it may yield. For the same reason, Chicago will not want him to. Using this clause, they can do something about that.

I hope you're beginning to understand that the Lakers will not be down long.

I told Lakers fans just to be patient. Folks are going to flood Laker land. Even more so when Kobe is gone and the Lakers have even more money and will pay the Luxury tax even after the cap gets bigger. Just told Get Ready that yesterday. Lakers are primed for success in the future. Now they just don't need to be trading their young guys for Cousins. That is a mistake. They need to groom Randle and Russell. Then add proven veteran pieces around them. Next year the Lakers will really have big money if Kobe retires.

lol Flood huh?

play on words. Flood/ Lake- Lakers?

Bottom line is the Lakers hate them or love them will be in play for a lot of Free Agents in the years coming. Kobe and Kobe's contract have stopped their rebuild process. He doesn't have that leverage anymore with his contract expiring this year. So the Lakers with the new cap room coming from the TV contract and his contract going away and probably him with it. LOL. They will have folks lining up to be part of the Lakers. Not like it is hard to sell Hollywood and extra endorsements to these stars. Even with the high arse taxes.

This news came from a writer in LA. Butler has not come out and said anything. He won't be going anywhere

@MeganMawicke: THe #Bulls have reportedly offered Jimmy Butler a Max Qualifying Offer (5yr/$90m) according to @EricPincus

Lakers didn't make strong impression in Aldridge meeting, sources say. Spurs can close on him. LMA expected to make decision fairly soon.

The Cavs were able to keep Love AND Thompson. If they can keep Mozgov, Shumpert and Smith plus sure up that bench, they should be back in the Finals.

@Mike_Bresnahan: LaMarcus Aldridge will not be joining the Lakers, The Times has learned. They were a 50-50 choice but he disliked bball part of presentation
