Coaches Polls - Division II

National Association of Basketball Coaches NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Rankings

Ranking #12 - February 22, 2005

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the sixth consecutive week, a new team occupies the No. 1 spot in the NABC Division II rankings, as losses by the top three teams in last week's poll have brought last week's No. 4 team, Bowie State (22-3) to the top. The Bulldogs, ranked No. 1 for the first time in school history, were a unanimous pick for the lead spot in a poll with a lot of turnover this week thanks to losses being suffered by seven of the top ten teams in the last poll.

Defending national champion Kennesaw State (22-3), winners of nine straight contests, moves from seventh to second this week, followed by last week's No. 1, Findlay (22-3). Two schools that met in last year's NCAA Division II semifinals, Metropolitan State (21-3) and Southern Indiana (21-4), round out the new top five.

This week's top ten also includes West Georgia (21-4) at No. 6, Pittsburg State (21-4) at No. 7, then Bentley (25-4), Texas A&M-Commerce (21-4) and Central Missouri State (20-5) to round out the first ten in the poll.

Lee Cook transferred from Alcorn a minute ago...They've got a couple of cats on there from D1 spots...

Lee Cook is still around...........I was thinking he had only one year left...and that was last season.

when you transfer down a level, you can play immediately, without losing eligibility...This is Lee's senior year there...
