Doug williams Files Lawsuit against Grambling State

Here we have Louisiana politics at it's best. Grambling Prez is simply doing what he has been told to do by the Jindal Administration under the guise of the University of Louisiana System and the Board of Regents. There was some discussion some months back, that because of the states financial crisis, head coaches in University of Louisiana System should all be paid about the same, which would put Doug's salary way out of line with the Southeastern, Northwestern, and Nicholls State University Head Coaches.
The feeling was that in the time of budget cuts, paying these type of $200,000 a year salaries to head coaches at our level would bankrupt struggling athletic depts and contribute to the financial ruin of the schools. They were right.
With Bobby Jindal in control, Higher Education Dollars in short supply, and academic support in decline, it is hard to justify the salary.
Did they lie to Doug?.... Yes. Should he get his money?... Yes. But now Prez has to tow the line from the top and try to do what's best for Grambling overall. Remember, he still has Spears case hanging over his head. It will work out one way or the other. It has to. Grambling can least afford Bankruptcy. Tech and LSU-Shreveport are about to be merged. I wouldn't laugh at Grambling's situation to quick. More budget cuts for higher education are on the way and the question is were will the money come from? Believe me, this stuff is all related.
