Grambling, La. – We announced recently that Grambling State University is the big winner of the vitaminwater national "HBCU Uncapped" contest, meaning the students have won a free concert.
Among all of the eligible and participating black colleges and universities, Grambling came in number one with the number of texts in support of Grambling State University. This gives Grambling big bragging rights, and the students will enjoy the concert in early to mid September.
We don’t know who’s going to be performing at the concert yet because vitaminwater and the show producer, FADER, , don’t release that until hours before the show. We will provide media with an early heads-up, at least a couple of days, as we learn more closer to the event date. The location will be on or near campus. To give you an idea about the types of youthful acts produced by FADER, they have produced shows featuring BEST COAST…OMARION…MELANIE FIONA…BIG BOI…LITTLE DRAGON…A-TRAK…KENDRICK LAMAR…2 CHAINZ
Students were asked to politely brag about the university’s win on Facebook and Twitter with @vitaminwater on Twitter and HASHTAG (#) GramFam, HASHTAG (#) vitaminwater and HASHTAG (#) uncapped.
"Our students were determined to win and their collective efforts paid off,†Grambling State University President Frank G. Pogue said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to an exciting vitaminwater Uncapped show."
