DT, if you think race doesn't have anything to do with this, then you my man have been whitewashed. I'm no Barry Bonds supporter, groupie, or the like, but I can see when a man is being railroaded, hell a blind mind can see it.

Why hasn't Lance Armstrong faced the same media scrutiny Barry Bonds has faced? Isn't he always "accused" as having used steroids? Why does he get a pass? Why aren't they talking about putting an asterisk around Mark McGwire's records, as they are for Bonds? Also, Jason Giambi NEVER admitted to using steroids, he made a blanket apology, and that was it. He never said I'm sorry for using steroids, and letting my fans down.

Gaylord Perry, Phil Neikro are both in the Hall Of Fame, and they were known cheaters, repeat offenders as a matter of fact, how many of their records have an asterisk behind them? How many homeruns did George Brett hit, while having illegal pine tar on his bat, how many hits did he get that were not given an asterisk?

If race has nothing to do with it, how is it that closed grand jury testimony got leaked out?

I'm no fool, I know every black man that cries foul is not innocent, but I can recognize a brother that's facing a lynch mob, do you?

I think I have been misunderstood in this thread.

I agree that Barry Bonds is being vilafied. . . Singled-out.
I do agree that this is a witch hunt.

My point is that I don't beleive that it is because of his race as many of you do.

Again, I think most of you are looking at this situation through red/black/green colored glasses and missing the fact that this dude is chasing THE MOST STORIED RECORD IN AMERICAN SPORTS HISTORY !!!
This is what makes his steroid use more significant than Jason Giambi's (who was vilafied as well by the way), more significant than Mark McGwire or Rafeal Palmero. All of varying races and ethnicities. None as hunted as bonds. BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T JUST PASS BABE FREAKIN RUTH AND CHASING HANK AARON

DT, I didn't say he was the most celebrated, but it would be hard to argue against him. Outside of Tiger Woods, Shaq, and Tom Brady who else would it be? Dwayne Wade ain't even in that argument yet (getting there, but not right now), and you being a Kobe fan should no better.

Race is playing a big factor in this, but I will agree that Barry's arrogance is partly to blame, because he hasn't been a good boy, like America likes us to be. Don't believe, take a look at the first baseball documentary "When It Was A Game", they only did a follow up documentary, when minority organizations cried foul.

This is baseball we're talking about bruh, and don't forget it's ugly history. Because I seriously doubt, that if it was Mickey Mantle, Joe Dimaggio, or Ted Williams approaching Babe Ruth's record, they wouldn't have recieved the hate mail that Hank Aaron recieved.
