Alabama State University Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts Dr. Tommie "Tonea" Stewart will be awarded with the White House's coveted Champion of Change Award on Tuesday at the Executive Mansion in Washington, D.C.
The prestigious award, which will be given to 11 honorees nationwide this year, recognizes faculty and staff members who have worked with students, families, and policymakers to build pathways to graduation at at historically black colleges and universities.
