Jones plans for scrimmage to help establish lineup

After almost two weeks of practice, the questions that surrounded Alabama A&M's football team remain the same.

The offensive line, because of a variety of ailments, hasn't been stabilized and a couple of spots in the secondary remain up for grabs.

Coach Anthony Jones hopes solutions in those areas become clear today when the Bulldogs hold their first preseason scrimmage at Louis Crews Stadium.

Luke still strong in bid to start at quarterback

Quarterback Kelcy Luke continued to draw rave reviews from coach Anthony Jones following Friday's practice.

Luke, who was nagged by a severe ankle injury last season, has put even more distance between him and redshirt freshman Harold Dorman in the race to become the Bulldogs' starter.

"I'm real excited about his play right now," Jones said after watching Luke complete 10-of-12 passes in a 7-on-7 drill that included a dropped ball.
