(CNN)A woman suspected of drunken driving crashed a car into a crowd of spectators at Oklahoma State University's homecoming parade, killing four people -- including a 2-year-old -- authorities in Stillwater said Saturday.

Initially, thirty-four people were injured in the incident, eight of them critically, according to police spokesman Capt. Kyle Gibbs.

One of those eight, however, was the 2-year-old who later died at OU Medical Center Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City "as a result of the injuries sustained during this morning's tragedy in Stillwater," hospital spokeswoman Vallery Brown said.
